Narciso Table

The NARCISO center table draws inspiration from the homonymous Greek myth of Narcissus who, in love with his own image and seeing it reflected in a pond, ended up throwing himself into the waters to chase it.

Exploring this Universal Myth that deals with the act of reflection, the reflection and the reflected itself, to create a piece that is, at the same time, the pond, its crystalline waters and the flower that emerged as a result of this tragedy.

A piece conformed by a modular structure of stainless steel petals of three different sizes, symmetrically welded around a central axis conforming a perfect circle. The geometric system is based on a twelve sided antiprism constructed by pieces of polished stainless steel so that the material, previously opaque, ends up having a mirror like finish that allows it to coalesce with its surroundings.

Bugambilia

Bugambilia , the Mexican name, can be embellishing or functional and presented individually or as a complex modular construction, stacked with other Bugambilia to construct new structures conforming a shelf or as a set of them sustaining a solid low center table, as seen here.

Bugambilia invites the user to multiply, reconfigure and stack them allowing for playful reconfiguration.

New for 2019 and specially designed to be presented at Zona Maco 2019, this stainless steel piece, conforms an apparent fragile, yet robust flower shape that reminds us of the bougainvillea, a typical three petal Mexican flower, used in Prehispanic medicine.

Bougainvillea trees can be found all over Mexico and, although we have become accustomed to see the grounds beautifully carpeted by them, their apparent simplicity hides the richness and perfection of Geometry.
